Dr. Robert G. & Winda Birt
Glass City is pastored by Dr. Robert G. Birt, Jr. Together, he and his lovely wife Winda have been a part of
The Glass for over 25 years helping carry the heartbeat to our members and surrounding communites.
Dr. Robert G. Birt, Jr., was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He and his beautiful wife Winda have one daughter, Octavia (Keith) Wright and three grandchildren: Zephan, Zamaria, and Kendrale. Dr. Birt has one brother and three sisters and is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Birt, Sr. (Gloria).
Dr. Birt has served at the Glass City Church of Christ since 1998. He was Pulpit Minister at the Louisa Street Church of Christ in New Orleans, Louisiana, for eight years prior to relocating to Toledo.
Dr. Birt graduated from Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas, in 1984. In the years 1985, 1987 and 1988 he received the Outstanding Young Man of America Award. He received his Masters of Divinity in 2010 from Winebrenner Theological Seminary. In 2013, Robert Birt received his Doctorate in Theology from United Theological Seminary. Furthermore, he is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Epsilon Upsilon Chapter.
Dr. Birt believes in ministry and the development of spiritual gifts in both the young and older members of the Lord’s body. One of his favorite scriptures is Romans 12:1-2. The words that he lives by are: “Never look down on a man unless you’re looking down to lift him up!”
